Euro 2024: Daniel Siebert to referee England vs Netherlands semi-final

All-German officiating crew for crunch clash

German referee Daniel Siebert will officiate the Euro 2024 semi-final between England and Netherlands at the BVB Stadion on Tuesday.

Siebert, 38, has been a FIFA referee since 2015 and has officiated at several major tournaments, including the 2018 World Cup and the 2020 European Championship.

He will be assisted by fellow Germans Rafael Foltyn and Christian Gittelmann, while Tobias Stieler will be the fourth official. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be Bastian Dankert.

Siebert's appointment has raised some eyebrows, given that he was previously criticized by England midfielder Jude Bellingham for his handling of a match-fixing scandal in Germany.

However, UEFA has defended Siebert's appointment, saying that he is a "highly experienced and respected referee".

The semi-final between England and Netherlands is scheduled to kick off at 8pm BST on Tuesday.
